Saute has no accounts, no sign-up and no in-app purchases, and I collect nothing about you myself. Your game progress stays on your iPhone. The app does show ads, served by Google AdMob, and to do that Google collects some data about your device — that is the one part of the app that talks to the internet.
Your game progress — the board, your gold, level, orders and settings — is written to a single file inside the app's own container on your iPhone. It is never uploaded, never sent to me, and deleting the app deletes it.
Saute shows banner ads, full-screen ads between levels, and optional rewarded ads you choose to watch for extra gold. They are delivered by Google AdMob.
To select, show and measure those ads, Google receives information such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, device type and operating system version, rough location derived from the IP address, and how you interacted with an ad. Google uses this to serve ads, to measure their performance, to detect fraud, and — only if you allow it — to make ads more relevant to you.
What Google collects and how it uses it is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and in the Google Privacy Policy.
Apple's SKAdNetwork is also enabled. It tells advertisers, in aggregate and without identifying you, that an ad led to an install.
I never see your personal data from any of this. What reaches me is the aggregate AdMob report: how many ads were shown and how much they earned.
Saute is rated 4+ but it does show ads, and ad delivery involves the data described above. The app is not directed at children under 13 and I do not knowingly collect data from them. If a child uses the device, declining the tracking prompt keeps the ads non-personalised.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date.
